Wedding Tips & Advice

Wedding Ceremony Decorations

The wedding ceremony is the most important part of the day even though some may think it’s the reception. The wedding ceremony is where it all begins, the place where the bride and groom to be make a commitment to stay together until death separates them.

The ceremony decorations should definitely add some life to the church or chosen venue. You want your guests to have a long lasting memory of your wedding ceremony.

Unique Wedding Favors

Even though I am not a huge fan of wedding favors, I still realize that there a hundreds of brides-to-be who love them and find them necessary to give out. If wedding favors are given out it is probably a good idea to put them all in a nice decorated basket and walk around and personally deliver them to the guests. This will ad a nice personal touch to your wedding favors and give you and the groom a chance to visit with each guests.

Whatever wedding favor you choose, make sure they are meaningful and that the guests will enjoy them. Here are some great personable favor ideas:

  • Bake some cookies and wrap them in a nice cellophane bag with a ribbon and tag that says “thank you for sharing this day with us”
  • Setup a nice Candy Buffet that will allow guests to fix their own favors. Some samples of Candy Buffets are below. Click HERE to see some of the candy jars we found to help you with your Candy Buffet.
  • You can give some delicious chocolates elegantly wrapped or boxed with or without a personalized tag.

Top 5 Ways To Save On Your Wedding Transportation

1. Enlist friends to transport the bridal party to and from the ceremony, and show your gratitude by buying them a tank of gas and a small gift.

2. Ask your attendants to drive themselves to the ceremony. Even though this option will save you money really try hard to provide transportation for your attendants.

3.Skip the amenities. Unless you plan on taking the car out for a whirl afterward, resist the bells and whistles such as a stocked bar, this may reduce the cost of the rental.

4. Ditch the chauffeured ride, and opt for a rental car that is equally as glamorous. Recruit someone reliable (and sober) to drive your rental.

5. Have an Off-Peak Wedding Day. Again, there is no rule that states that your wedding has to be held on a Saturday in June. If you hold your event on a day when rental vehicles are in less demand, chances are you can negotiate a considerable discount.

If you are going to hire a limo company to transport you and the bridal party then I would recommend two of my favorite limousine companies that offer great rates and outstanding customer service:

What Will Your Wedding Photographer Deliver?

When choosing a professional wedding photographer, it is essential that you are not only confident that you have a quality one, but that you are confident in the goods you will receive after the ceremony is over. The photographer is responsible for recording all of the magical moments as well as delivering them back to you.
What will your wedding photographer deliver?

Prior to the digital revolution, wedding photographers would often invite you to their studio to review contact prints of the negatives. By viewing these small prints, you could choose which shots you liked and the sizes of prints that you wanted. This was a long and involved process and it would often be months before a bride and groom received their wedding album.
Times have changed and it is now much easier to obtain access to your wedding photographs. In fact, many wedding photographers who shoot digitally can offer to show the wedding photographs almost as soon as they are taken, at the wedding reception.

Many brides and grooms still want the old-fashioned bridal album, with cropped and mounted prints in a bound album. This type of album is strictly a keepsake, and not generally shown to anyone outside of the immediate family. Photographers can now create albums that are less traditional, appearing almost as if they were published books. These hardback, dust-jacketed books feature prints of the photographs on individual pages.

The most popular, however, and often the most inexpensive is the digital album. Wedding photographers are able to create CDs and DVDs of wedding photographs – turning them into virtual movies by using digital effects. These digital albums are also able to be published online, making them easily available to all of the wedding participants, as well as people who may have lived to far away to get to the wedding.

A digital album is a great way to share your memories.
When you choose your wedding photographer, the actual delivered product should be described and included in the price. Make sure you know what to expect before you sign the contract!
